Even if you do manage to hit the ball, the follow through may not be right and your aim will probably be reduced.

Instead, you should look for a baseball bat that gives you momentum. The bat should feel like a natural extension of your body when you swing. There should be some kind of resistance when you swing but the bat should also feel comfortable.

When buying a baseball bat, try to find one with the right diameter and length. The diameter will affect your grip, and thus your control. You want your grip to be tight but not too tight. The length of the bat will affect your follow through. The longer the bat, the longer your follow through will probably be. Like everything else, you want to look for comfort.

The only way to buy the right baseball bat is to try out different bats. You may want to go by weight, then by diameter, then by length. After a few trial and errors, you'll be able to whittle down to a few choices and buy a bat that is comfortable for you.
